Swimming Pools

Installation > Construction of support walls

Straight sections are built. 20 - 25 cm thick. We maintain the same width also in the curved sections of the above ground wall. This wall may extend only 30 cm above ground (not applicable to circular pools). If we want to set the pool more than 30 cm above ground, or the ground is unstable, a building specialist must determine the width and method of constructing the supports.

Prior to pouring concrete the straight sections of the walls are cased off for the entire depth of the pool; the width is maintained identical for the top as it is at the bottom. Water is let into the pool 30 cm deep and concrete is poured to the same height. Water level is increased again by 30 cm and concrete is poured, etc. The concrete pouring is done in two days for the total depth of 1.2 meters, and in 3 days for 1.5 meters depth.

On circular pools of more than 4 meters diameter we recommend concrete to be 10 to 15 cm thick with conditions described above.

For the installation of illumination or other equipment holes must be provided in correct sizes. The plastic filtering tank should be also covered by 10 to 15 cm thick concrete to the ground level. Concrete should be only slightly wet, the surface rough to allow next layers to join properly. Always pay attention to cleanliness and be careful not to damage the surface of the structure.
